PorchLink Legal Disclosures

Effective date: September 1, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 1, 2026

These disclosures explain what PorchLink is, what it is not, and what you should and should not rely on it for. They apply to the PorchLink mobile application, our website, and related services, and they form part of our Terms of Service. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

PorchLink is for routine awareness. It is not a medical device, not a clinical tool, and not an emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice, and no one is standing by to respond on your behalf.

1. PorchLink is not a medical device

PorchLink is a general wellness product. It is designed to support everyday awareness and connection among families and the people they trust. It is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

PorchLink has not been cleared, approved, or reviewed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada, COFEPRIS (Mexico), ISP (Chile), INVIMA (Colombia), or any other regulatory authority. Nothing in the app is a clinical assessment, a screening tool, or a substitute for professional medical evaluation.

PorchLink does not identify cognitive decline, falls, illness, or any other medical event, and it does not forecast health outcomes.

2. PorchLink is not an emergency service

PorchLink is not a personal emergency response system, a medical alert service, a security system, or a staffed response service. No person or system is watching for emergencies on your behalf, and no one will be dispatched in response to anything that happens in the app.

In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Do not rely on PorchLink to summon help, to confirm that someone is safe, or to reach anyone within a defined amount of time.

3. PorchLink does not give professional advice

Summaries, insights, and educational content in the app are general information. They are not medical, nursing, legal, financial, or insurance advice. Always talk with a qualified health professional about any question you have regarding a health condition, and never delay or disregard professional advice because of something you saw in PorchLink.

4. What insights can and cannot tell you

PorchLink learns an individual pattern over time and shares changes in that pattern with your circle. Automated and machine learning methods have real limits. By using PorchLink, you understand that:

  • The app needs an initial learning period, and it keeps adjusting after that.
  • A change may be flagged when nothing meaningful has happened, and something meaningful may not produce a flag at all.
  • Ordinary events shift what PorchLink sees, including travel, houseguests, a device that was charged or replaced, a rearranged room, or a seasonal change in routine.
  • Insights describe patterns in signals. They do not describe a person's health, ability, whereabouts, or state of mind.

You and the people in your circle decide what to make of what you see. PorchLink does not make care decisions and does not recommend them.

5. Availability and reliability

PorchLink depends on things outside our control, including whether devices in the home are present, powered, and configured as expected, how your phone's operating system handles permissions and background activity, whether Apple and Google deliver push notifications, and whether your network is available. Off-Grid Mode keeps processing running locally through connectivity gaps, but it does not guarantee that an alert or notification will reach anyone during an outage.

We cannot promise that PorchLink will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free of errors. Features and plans may change, and anything described as coming soon may be changed or withdrawn before it ships.

6. Consent and your circle

PorchLink only works the way it should when everyone involved knows it is in use. By setting up or joining a circle, you confirm that the person whose routine is being shared understands PorchLink is in use and has agreed to it, or that you have the legal authority to agree on their behalf.

A connection is only created when two people deliberately link accounts. You are responsible for who you invite and for removing anyone whose access should end. Please do not use PorchLink to observe someone who has not agreed to take part. Your state or country may require additional consent, and following those requirements is your responsibility.

7. Privacy and health information

How we collect and handle information is described in our Privacy Policy, which controls if anything on this page conflicts with it.

PorchLink is not a HIPAA covered entity. Information you provide is generally not protected health information under HIPAA unless PorchLink is operating under a written business associate agreement with a covered entity, such as a health system or health plan deployment. Consumer accounts sit outside that framework. Optional connections to Apple Health or Health Connect are governed by our Privacy Policy and by your device settings, and you can turn them off at any time.

8. Research and pilot programs

PorchLink takes part in research collaborations and pilot programs with academic and nonprofit partners. Taking part in a pilot or study is voluntary, is governed by its own written terms, and may involve additional consent steps, institutional review, or data handling requirements. Nothing on this page overrides those terms.

9. No endorsement by third parties

References to agencies, programs, accelerators, membership organizations, research institutions, or partners are not an endorsement, approval, certification, or recommendation of PorchLink by those organizations, and they do not imply a business relationship beyond what is described. Being listed or included in any public or internal registry, directory, or repository does not indicate approval, procurement, or a commitment to work together.

Device manufacturers whose products are present in the home are not affiliated with PorchLink and do not sponsor or endorse it. Apple and Google are not sponsors of PorchLink and are not responsible for it.

10. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by those platforms under their own terms, and cancellations and refunds are handled wherever you made the purchase. Pricing, plans, and availability may change. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise, and local pricing, taxes, and currency conversion may apply.

11. Where PorchLink is available

PorchLink is offered in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia. Features and supported languages vary by market. English and Spanish are supported. Translations are provided for convenience, and the English version controls if there is any inconsistency.

12. Intellectual property

PorchLink, the PorchLink logo, and associated marks are trademarks of Hello World Solutions, LLC. PorchLink is covered by one or more pending patent applications. All rights reserved. No license to any intellectual property is granted except as stated in our Terms of Service.

13. Forward looking statements

Anything we say about future features, plans, markets, research outcomes, or partnerships reflects what we expect today and is subject to change. These are not commitments, guarantees, or offers, and they should not be relied on when making a purchase, an investment, or a care decision.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hello World Solutions, LLC and its officers, employees, and partners are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from reliance on PorchLink, including any delay in, failure of, or inaccuracy in an insight or a notification. Additional limits are set out in our Terms of Service.

15. Changes to these disclosures

We may update these disclosures. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know via email.
